Create account to be updated in patron feed
Follow these instructions to create an account internally and then have it updated in the feed.
Example: New faculty/graduate student with employee/student ID and netID wants to setup account before official hire/enroll date.
IMPORTANT: You MUST have the user management role in Alma to perform this task.
Follow the instructions for Creating a New User Account
NOTE: In the identifier field, you must put in the 7-digit employee/student ID number. This will ensure the account is updated by the feed later.
Click on the ID link
Click on the General Information tab and Toggle Account Type
Confirm switching account from Internal to External
Click Confirm.
NOTE: If you created a password for the patron before switching to external, it will be removed. The patron will be able to login with their netID and password in discoverE once they are in the feed.
Verifying feed status
You can verify a patron is in the feed by checking their Status Date under the General Information tab in Alma on their official hire/enroll date. The current date will be reflected if they are in the feed.
