Woodruff - Catalog Items Going Directly to the LSC

1. Use LSC library and location when cataloging books for LSC (LSC USTOR, etc.)

MD Editor - Google Chrome

2. You can group ALL LSC items together when cataloging and use an LSC Holding template to avoid mistakes.

3. If the item is part of the Shubin collection (it will say "Shubin" on the Gift Slip), add 590 and 940:

Added notes for Shubin Collection books only for each record:

  • Add 590 field: "Gift of the Estate of Michael J. Shubin"
  • If a duplicate item is being added, change the note to read "Woodruff copy gift of the Estate of Michael J. Shubin"
  • If an item in a multivolume set is being added, change the note to read "Volume [x] gift of the Estate of Michael J. Shubin"
  • Add 940 field: “SHUBIN”

4. Put a Tech Services work order on the item as usual

4. MAKE SURE to put an orange Storage Flag in each book!!

4. MAKE SURE to put an orange Storage Flag in each book!!

This is the only way that Stacks will know that it needs to be transferred to the LSC.

5. Send to Marking as usual

Marking processes the books, takes off work orders, and routes to Stacks. LSC items stay in transit until they are scanned in at LSC.

Stacks will then transfer items to LSC .
