856 Project: Dealing with Suppressed Alma Records

Instructions on how to deal with suppressed ALMA records when dealing with the 856 Project. A shorter version of Steve Johnson's long form instructions.

Be aware that ALMA records can be suppressed on the BIB level, the HOLDING level or on the item level. BIB level records affect all of our libraries that own this title. Suppressed records will always be visible in ALMA, but not visible to the public in the library catalog (currently Library Search).

Steve or Sofia can check the CaiaSoft software database used by the LSC.

Note: FOS= Found on Shelf. NOS = Not on Shelf.

For the 856 spreadsheet:

In the notes column, put in whatever Library owns the suppressed record,

put suppressed in the comments column and highlight it in standard color Orange,

add your initials to the done column,

and move to the next row of the spreadsheet.

For items that are found, change the highlighting to Green.
