Merge Bib Records
Bring both records into Metadata Editor.
In the left pane under Records, click on the record you DO want. This record now appears on the right side of the split screen.
The records HAVE to be in this order: record you DON'T want on the left, and record you DO want on the right.
Go to Tools --> MARC Bibliographic --> Merge Records & Combine Inventory.
The Merge Records and Combine Inventory dialog box opens.
Choose the "Emory-ALL OCLC Merge Profile, local retained" merge routine.
Click on the "Show merge preview" to make sure that the merge will work as expected.
Under "You are about to move the following:", the system lists the changes that will occur after the merge.
In addition, holdings requests, loans, and reading lists attached to the record you do not want will be updated.
Optionally, select "Update holdings call number".
When you select this, the system updates the call number information (using the bibliographic call number) for all the holdings associated with the record after the bibliographic merge has been processed.
Decide how you want to handle the record you don't want.
Your options are Delete, Suppress, or Keep it.
This operation is non-reversible!!!
Make sure you have double-checked your options! You cannot undo merging these records after you click Ok.
